One of the most frequent requests we hear from our customers is to help reduce the amount of unsolicited commercial email (spam) they receive in their email systems. In addition to the server-based spam filtering feature that is already available to all clients using our Business Email Hosting Service, we have recently added a new layer of server-based protection against spam, over and above the existing SpamAssassin server-based anti-spam filtering System.
Using the new layer of protection, it is now possible for our mail servers to check incoming email connections against lists of known spammers (Real-time Blackhole Lists, or RBLs) and then reject the connection before any email is accepted or delivered. This tool eliminates spam as early in the email delivery process as possible and significantly improves the performance of the email system.
If you are already using the COMMbits Business Email Hosting Service and because this new methodology is such an effective tool for filtering spam, we expect that the levels of spam you receive will decrease substantially.
