In the area of the website redesign and re-launch the theory is very clear: Once your business has grown or its objectives have been re-adjusted, seriously consider retouching your website presence to reflect your new business status.
The theory was 100% applicable to the case of Club Bekkers Kennels, a long-established and successful pet boarding business that covers the areas of Oakville and Mississauga in Ontario.
Formerly Bekkers Wincrest Kennels, this upscale Oakville kennel with 30 years of experience has recently moved into a brand new and modern facility in Oakville and changed its name to Club Bekkers Kennels. The name change is directly related to the Company’s new target direction, none other than offering “club” features to its fury customers. The new facility offers everything possible in order to create a relaxing environment for cats and dogs, including couches and music in an environment that closely resembles the home environment which the animals are accustomed to.
In order to communicate the new strategy and showcase the new facility the owners of the boarding kennels decided to redesign and re-launch their web presence. The previous, 3-year old initial website was also a COMMbits project, therefore it was possible to reuse certain graphical and scripting components where applicable, thus requiring less budget than starting from scratch.
The new site, which is packed with new and digitally edited photographic material, furnishes a new slideshow component on the home page, designed to tell a story in the shortest possible amount of time. The technology that powered the two photo galleries on the previous site has been ported onto the new site.
Other than obvious layout changes (a brand new layout has been designed), and in order to accommodate flexible organization of new web pages within the new site, the navigational menu structure has been upgraded from a single-level to a two-level dynamic structure.
Just as with most COMMbits website projects, the new site for the renowned cat and dog boarding business utilizes COMMbits DOME, the popular Website Content Management System that allows website owners to easily and safely maintain content on their web sites without any technical knowledge required.
