When Neil Viveiros of ASAP Fence contacted us his request was to build a new site to replace his aging web site, which he initially built in 2003. One of the main requirements was to give him – the website owner – the ability to maintain his site himself, easily, anytime, without running the risk of “breaking” the site.
We quickly realized that in the fence-building business a contractor must show images of existing work to potential clients before a new client is secured. Towards this end we integrated a robust photo gallery Open Source system into the new site, and gave access to the website to maintain his own product categories and photos. The system seamlessly integrates with the rest of the site and a new navigational bar was built in order to offer direct linking to various product categories from any page.
Just like any other business, client testimonials are very important for a fence contractor too. For this reason the project includes the COMMbits Randomizer, which randomly displays testimonials on all pages. A variation of the same module was also integrated inside the top graphic banner and is responsible for the constant switching of the top graphical element, which makes subsequent visits more interesting and fresh.
Lastly, the legendary COMMbits DOME Website Content Management system drives the underlying content on pages where self-maintenance is required, satisfying the client’s request for self-editing content in a easy and safe fashion.
