Full Story:
The Growing Tree Learning Center in Westfield, Massachusetts in the US offers a warm, safe and nurturing environment, educational curriculum and caring Faculty.
Ms. Ellen Daniels, Director of the Learning Center, reached out to COMMbits to develop the first-ever web presence for her Learning Center. The combination of daycare facilities with a fully-fledged educational center has been identified during the initial analysis phase as one of the unique characteristics of this Center, differentiating it from other similar facilities. The web site was subsequently developed with a concentration on this central notion.
Ms. Daniels required a system to allow her to make content changes herself. For example, updating a calendar for parents, in addition to updating content as her business evolves, was critical. COMMbits responded with its DOME Web Site Content Management System. (For more on DOME please click here.)
Furthermore, the site uses the unique COMMbits methodology for navigational systems and site structuring, which ensures consistency of navigational bars and other standard visual and underlying code components across all pages.
To serve the needs of this project COMMbits has also modified extensively one of its standard templates, using original material and photos. All photos now visible on the web site layout (the top-right part with the four children, and the photo above the navigational bar) have been cropped from photos Ms. Daniels has supplied.
In addition, COMMbits has provided electronic coloring and other modifications to a supplied black & white image of a tree with children, which was used for the introduction page. All photographs now found on the web site have been electronically enhanced for the special needs of the project and to optimize them for the web.
The site also utilizes an exclusive COMMbits technology, which allows the generation of custom photo galleries with automated pop-up windows for larger-size versions of the photos.
In order to offer some interactivity between parents or other friends of the facility and the Center, COMMbits has integrated a database-driven Guestbook system, purposefully renamed "Chalkboard" specifically for the requirements of this project. This system allows the owner of the web site to develop herself multiple layouts for the Guestbook, which she can then apply according to the season. For example, a Halloween Guestbook layout is different than the standard or the Christmas layout.

We would like to wish The Growing Learning Tree Center all the best and every success for the future.
Ms. Daniels wrote to us after project completion:
Al, Steve, You have proven to me, my associates, clients and community, that even the smallest of us (companies) can proudly stand next to the giants. Your expertise, creativity, patience and willingness to allow me to work hand in hand with you, has produced a web presence that transcends all others in our industry (and I am sure many others). Thank you for helping us spread our wings to fly!
MOST Sincerely Ellen M. Daniels Founder and President The Growing Tree Learning Center Inc. 5 October 2004 - Westfield, MA, USA
