 After interviewing a number of different web development firms in Toronto, Echelon General Insurance Company of Mississauga ON had select COMMbits to design its new Corporate web site presence and all accompanying Back-Office components.
Echelon was looking for a fresh new design in addition to some exciting new features, in an effort to bring its previous web site to a whole new level.
Through a series of meetings with Echelon top-level management and staff, COMMbits had identified and proposed a number of different objectives for the Corporation's new web presence. These had included the need for tighter marketing messages, more clear structure of information in meaningful sections, and the need for self-maintaining content.
COMMbits has just announced that the development project has been completed and the new Echelon web site has been launched at www.echelon-insurance.ca.
In addition to supplying Echelon with its powerful COMMbits News Management component, COMMbits has also developed a new web-based application, which allows the public to search through Echelon's Brokers. This custom-developed application serves as a "middleware" between Echelon's Legacy Back-Office systems and the web site. COMMbits has created a mapping mechanism, whereby Legacy Database information is ported and "linked" to new fields off a database designed exclusively for access through the public web. This methodology ensures maximum security for Echelon's Legacy database, while at the same time exposing required information to the public Internet. COMMbits has also developed a powerful Search Engine for the Broker's database, and a related Administrator's Control Panel for Echelon to manually edit Brokers' records.
