Coupled with a custom process COMMbits continues to utilize its business hosting services and global Tier-1 network to provide new on-line file-sharing solution for the Art Design Dept. of Canadian Tire Corporation in a co-operation that begun in the Summer of 2007.

The Corporation’s initial small but bold entrepreneurial concept has emerged to become Canada’s most-shopped retailer. Nowadays, Canadian Tire maintains 1,000 stores and gas bars across the country.

The Challenge: The Art Design Department had contacted COMMbits in 2007 in search of a knowledgeable and reliable vendor who could take over the Department’s FTP hosting functions. The Department was looking for an on-line solution to allow sharing of large files between its team of in-house designers and a large & diverse group of other stakeholders around the world.

The solution: COMMbits already had access to world-class hosting infrastructure through its partnering Tier-1 Premium Data Center and a wealth of server products to satisfy any modern business web hosting requirement. However, COMMbits went beyond just providing the infrastructure: A custom process was put in place, which allows stakeholders to securely access the on-line resources without any other special software or FTP client required, other than a standard web browser.
