An already successful COMMbits project makes a huge leap forward. The web sites of CMTWorld.org (Canada) and HNF (US) have merged into a new, powerful web presence, still powered by COMMbits technologies.

A couple of years ago COMMbits has helped CMTWorld.org – a Canadian-based non-profit Organization – to launch and sustain an extensive and highly innovative new website for Charcot Marie Tooth disease. The site quickly became a veritable clearinghouse of information about CMT. The site was created with one single goal; to provide people worldwide with information, resources and support for CMT patients worldwide – all at no cost to them.

The Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation (HNF) is a non-profit organization in the U.S. dedicated to finding a cure for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) while providing support and services for those living with CMT and their families. HNF is strong on Research.

The two organizations have recently decided to join forces, and proceed with the common mandates using a stronger and more unified voice.

The result is a “merged” web site presence for Charcot Marie Tooth, now found at www.hnf-cure.org.

The common goals for the new project include stronger patient support and the persue of a lot more opportunities for organizational support and research within the United States and around the world.

COMMbits has successfully performed the difficult task of merging the two web sites and came up with an new “look” that combines elements from both previous web site to ensure minimal attrition rate of existing visitors. The project, powered by the COMMbits ePublisher Article Management System for on-line publishing, also includes consolidated mailing lists and e-mail broadcasts, a wealth of other COMMbits technologies and e-business methodologies, and retains the highly popular Charcot-Marie-Tooth Forums.

COMMbits has also entered into an agreement with Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation to provide its state-of-the-art power hosting services for the new site, ensuring fast and secure access from all around the globe.

We wish Allison Moore, the President of Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation and Susan Wheeler, former Executive Director of CMTWorld.org and now the Executive Director of Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation, all the best for their challenging new mandate.
