Why is there a monthly fee? Our services are all-inclusive. Your monthly fee covers for the rental of high-end resources from our Premium Data Center, which “connect” your blog live on the Internet, 24/7, using a premium data network. For our Business Hosting (included with Power Blog Pro) we are using a billing model similar to the one used by traditional cable television companies in N. America: We pay a fixed monthly fee for basic television, then we pay extra for any additional channels we want to receive. Just as with the cable television model, the more resources your Internet presence consumes off our infrastructure the higher the monthly fee. This is why you pay extra for add-ons. The Power Blog Plan comes with a fixed monthly fee on a Shared Hosting account. Learn also about other ways to obtain a blog with us.

Why is my monthly fee higher when I add more add-ons (Power Blog Pro) ? This is because you account is using more resources off our business infrastructure. Can I design my blog with COMMbits but host elsewhere? We consider web design and web hosting part of the same system. By removing one of these components (web hosting), our business packages are simply not possible any more. We cannot service and support your website while it is hosted somewhere else for a variety of very important reasons, which seriously jeopardize our ability to offer you a complete business solution. Will I have “Super Admin” access, which would enable me to install additional plugins on my own? “Yes” on Power Blog but “No” on Power Blog Pro. Our Business Hosting program is successful because of our sensitivities on what people run on our dedicated servers. Think of a factory-tuned high-end sports car. If an owner was allowed access into the engine very quickly fast car would be “no-more”, and in fact the safety of other drives would be probably jeopardized too. We want to ensure that your blog will be running smoothly at all times, alongside with all our other business clients’ Internet assets including blogs, websites and e-Commerce websites alike.

What will be my involvement and responsibilities during the design phase and after launch? We take our work very seriously – on our team we all feel we “own” the project, until we deliver it to you. However, your input during the creative design phase is of paramount importance. We are trying to portray YOUR on-line culture, and the unique characteristics of YOUR business. Therefore, your close co-operation during the creative design phase is critical. You will be able to follow-through the various steps of development using the Internet, from the comfort of your office.

Content editing is ultimately your responsibility. Please think of the carpenter/bookshelf-owner analogy for a moment: The carpenter is responsible to build the bookshelf but the owner is the one to place the books onto the finished bookshelf and maintain them thereafter. Your website is equipped with a Content Management System, that allows you to add content on your own, without any technical knowledge required.
